Scrubs?

Does anyone watch "Scrubs"? I've seen some quick shots of Turk's watch and it looks like it could be a PAM (ss bracelet).

When replicas are used on TV, in the movies and in advertising, they're no longer called replicas. They're called Props.

It's perfectly normal to have a box of replica guns, watches, pens, cars, etc., if you're making a movie. It's like a stunt-watch.

What I find funny is when a character is wearing a watch, or whatever, that they should not be able to afford. Usually this is cars, like a regular poor beat copper driving a mint-condition tuned classic V8, but sometimes it's suits and watches.

How about Jason Statham's PAM in The Transporter? Prop? And does Hollywood get their props from EL or Joshua?

I've heard of "prop watches" too. But mostly because of theft issues. I guess it would be fairly easy for someone in the crew to make a watch disappear.

However, I highly doubt that when a watch company throws money at a movie to plug their watch that a rep is ever used, except for the obvious ones. Lke some of the Bond movies were the watch was a saw or a flashlight and what not. Obviously these were, wait for it, "stunt watches".

Either way, I love to spot watches in movies, on TV, and in the ADs. I even annoy my girlfriend when I see a watch billboard. Like "Hey honey, I have that YM at the house!

Cheers,

In KIll Bill, there's a huge, full-screen close-up on a Daytona. Anyone reckon it's real?

That one is funny as hell. I heard Rolex was really pissed off about that.
