Well, it pains me to even ask this question, but let me give you all a “hypothetical” situation.

Hypothetically, if airport security were to hypothetically drop your PAM 127 face first on the ground because they hypothetically grabbed it with your belt off the goddamn X-ray conveyor belt not realizing your watch was hypothetically in the middle of the rolled belt and dropping it.

Then let’s hypothetically say the crystal shattered into a million fucking pieces, minute hand falls off, second hand is gone forever, and shit is loose in the movement.

Would that watch head hypothetically be worth anything in parts?

Yep, it’s a rep, initially thought it was an old noob but the micro adjustment screw wasn’t long like the noob so my guess is it was XF. Either way, still grinds my gears.

Lol well at this point the cat is more or less out of the bag, this shit absolutely happened. I’d say when the tsa person grabbed my belt and didn’t realize the watch was in the center of the belt and it dropped, it was a pretty big spectacle.

Then when the lady saw me crouched down trying to find the two hands in all of the shattered glass I think she realized that it was likely a “nicer” watch.

The tsa person in charge came over and said a control number would be created to reimburse but I am obviously not doing that at all. I’ve just written it off. I have a buyer lined up to use it for a project and the small amount of funds I’ll receive from it will be donated to RWI.

That sucks. It's been a ritual for me to put my watch and my wallet in my bag before putting my bag into the xray machine.

Yep. Before covid I travelled for work weekly and ALWAYS put my watch in m bag for security, I admit I haven’t travelled by air in nearly 3 years so I just didn’t think about it. Lesson learned.

That's a freaking bummer man. Our airports here in Germany tell me to keep on my jewlery and handcheck them. Maybe something similar happened to them - but with a retail RM? ????

I do have a buyer lined up but if that doesn’t go through I’ll let you know. It’s the A6497 decorated movement with the Y incabloc. Pretty sure this was an XF.
