Pam homage-Questions about RXW PVD, Getat new mini fiddy and movement swaps

I searched all over the forums and I couldn't find a clear answer so I'm asking for some help from the experts. I want to build a custom PVD Pam homage but from what I saw the coating on Getat's 44mm Luminor and mini fiddy case is to glossy. I'm looking for a flat black case. I see that there is a type of new mini fiddy case with flat crystal and nicer looking matte black finish, at least from the pics, here http://www.siswatch727.com/showroom...717806671017346&productId=1347271275504000404 but it looks like all the versions only come with an automatic 2530 movement, from what I could find the specs for that movement are : Diameter: 30.40 mm. Thickness: 7.4 mm. Anyone has any experience with this case, is there a ring around the movement? Can I install a 6497 in that case which is a wider 36.6 mm diameter? Or is there any way to get a movement that will take a normal sterile, only sec at 9 dial in that case no date and other stuff? Similar to this dial http://www.wenping1970.com.img.800cdn.com/pic/digi/201012111894016.jpg .
Also anybody know the dial size for this case? I think it should be 37 mm being a mini fiddy type case, but I'm not sure.
Now I don't have any experience with any of these cases but form the pics the PVD coating looks better than on the standard Getat 44mm Luminor PVD, is it really ? Anyone that has one can confirm? I also noticed the RXW PVD cases that have a nicer flat black coating, at least from pics, and those support 6497 movements http://www.jacksontse.com/new/product-page.php?product_id=343 . I'll settle for an RXW if there is no solution for the first case. Is the coating better in real life on these two cases than on the standard luminor case? I know I could go for a DNS or other custom DLC case, but this looks like a fun project and can be a lot cheaper, or maybe a lot more expensive by the time I'm done :)

if someone reads that post, and tries your links, well good on them.

but that wall of text and broken links is just no good man.
you need to visit that skunk vap and straighten 'er out.

here's my advice:

buy this: working link!

now you have two options, and cheap and decent one, and an expensive and
absolutely amazing one:

1. get a cape cod cloth and get to work on the case. you will be removing the gloss
yourself, working it until you get a finish you are happy with

2. send the case set to avitt and have him put an amazing real DLC coating on it.

I'd forget about the other cases if a mini fiddy is what you're after.

Sry, fixed the links and did my best to make the text more eligible.

I'm not after a 1950 mini fiddy case, there is another mini fiddy type of case with a flat crystal, some sites call it "new mini fiddy" . on this one the coating looks flat and I like the shape a lot more. The problem is it only comes with a 2530 movement, I don't know if it has a ring around the movement and if any other type of movement can be fitted. Maybe I'll just shave the seconds and power reserve pin so I can fit a normal sterile dial. Here are the pics of that case

Getat can actually do custom made watch with the type of case, dial, movement, lume, hands and strap that you want. Try discuss with him and see what he say. But Tat can be real slow, at least 3 weeks of waiting time for a watch so you really gotta have lots of patience when order with him.

I made an order with Getat like two months ago, lol. still nothing. slow, is um, yeah.

okay, so you want that new case that houses automatics only.
and you want to put a manual wind with a corresponding dial in there.
and you're wondering if it'll fit and if you can get a nice matte finish.
okay.

well the 6497 will fit in terms of diameter, no problem.
your concerns will be getting a proper movement ring or tabs, and the height
of the crown tube. so if you can sort that, it's a no problem swap.

Jackson can do custom work, I'd send him an email.

it's his 44mm RXW PVD case set, just ask for the movement, dial, hands
lume color, etc that you want, he'll probably be able to pull it off.

Tat is a good experiece to deal with, once have done deal with Tat before, they will know that dealers here are actually very much better in terms of getting the watch ready and communication.

I order from Tat 3 times, first time almost 1 month for a watch, second time 2 month for 2 watch, third time 3 weeks for 2 straps........

He do good stuff if you have the patience to wait.

oh I'm waiting, lol.

Jackson is fast, like fast emails with deadlines set right off the bat.
He's like, "thanks for your order, I'll try to have this shipped out in two weeks."
His site doesn't offer you much of any customization though.
I've had him do custom orders in the past, he accepts them through email,
just doesn't advertise them, keeping turn around down.

Getat offers full customization on many models right on the site. Lume, hands,
movement, strap color, stitching color, buckle, everything. Therefore I see a lot
more custom orders rolling into Tat's shop, increasing the standard lead time.

Both dealers get their parts from the same sources, call them different things,
but in the end they're the same. I think Getat is more used to custom work, and
is probably more adept at it then overall. I rate them both very highly, two good
shops for sure doing good work.

I'm still waiting for Tat to answer a question I asked a couple of days ago. If he can do it I have no problem to wait, I'm used to waiting after the Diver V3.
So the case has a retaining ring, that's good, if I can fit a 6497 in there and I can't find a proper ring, I can cast a custom one out of epoxy. I'll shoot an email to Jackson, maybe he can do it or at least I get the dial size for that case.
Thank you guys.

yeah that sucks. I'm guessing it might be a crown tube height problem.

no experience with that particular finish, but you'd probably want to either
cape cod it or DLC coat it anyway if you're going for something cool.

I am going to get the RXW case in this pic and install a sandwich dial to build a 111 PVD homage

%E6%9C%AA%E6%A0%87%E9%A2%98-11.jpg

In the meantime this 47mm sucker started to grow on me big time. The more I stare at it, the better it looks. Is it just me or it looks even better than a 111 PVD ?
Was thinking about having it relumed with Vintage lume or White superlume. What do you guys think?

I don't like it much, some things really bother me.
I like the case, that part is nice, but just looking at it I can tell it has
a cheapo undersized movement in it. how? the seconds subdial location.
look how it's pulled in to the center of the watch, you won't find any
gen or nice rep like that ever. that's just a sign of a small cheap movement.

the rest of it would be fine if you would match the lume on the hands
and the dial.

as for the top watch, well that is a 111 homage as it sits in the picture.
the vast majority of the dials used by the homage vendors in the luminor
cases are sandwhich, especially the ones you can pick lume for.

With this one I am not looking for something to resemble a gen, as far as I know there isn't a gen nowhere close to this design. I will superlume the hands and dial so the lume color will match. But I know what you mean, it's a shame they've build such a nice case and let it go to waste by making it fit only a cheapo automatic movement. From all the possible dial arrangements for this movement, this one seems to look the best, some of the other look really bad.
