Pam Help!

I don't mean to come off as angry and I do accept the hobby for what it is, but perhaps my short story will explain a bit of my frustration with the rep world and where I'm at now.

I had a gen Sub that was stolen. Rather than replace it with a gen, I bought a rep and from there... my addiction was born. I found this site and decided I'd order a few more.

~ 2 months ago I ordered 2 21j Milgauss from Lay. They look great, but one of them loses 10 minutes a day. I figured I'd suck it up and live with it, since lay said it was just the nature of the movement. My honest opinion is that a $10 WalMart watch keeps perfect time, so should these.. but I digress and again, realize what I paid for.

~1 month ago I ordered from Mark. I bought a ETA Sub (nice watch) for myself, a $45 LV Sub for my brother and my first Pam for myself.

First - I didn't receive the stainless bracelet with my Pam. He said he would send it. I'm Ok with that, mistakes are made.

Second - He let me know ahead of time (applause) that I'd be receiving the wrong LV. I had to send the wrong LV back to him, and then he would send me the correct one. Pain in my butt, but I'm OK with it. Now I've paid $14 to ship it back and I'm supposed to use that as a credit on my next order.

I'm not sure that I want a "next order." I tried to remove my leather strap from the PAM today and attach the steel - and here's what happened...

One of the screws wont come out. I'm not sure if I'm truly frustrated or just let down. I feel like within 1 order, I had 3 problems. Mark has been great to communicate with, and I don't mean to insult him - but what do I do? Any suggestions on how to remove the screw?

Mods - my apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I actually tried that. Unfortunately it was not successful.

Thank you for the suggestion, though.

push harder.

or get fancy and push from one end and turn at the other.
it'll come out, just needs some force it seems.

Between the friction caused by the strap and the tube, it is sometimes a bugger to get out.

Unless the threads are stripped and trapped somehow, you should be able to push it through without any problem. If the threads are defective, bang it or even drill it out and get a couple of big, diver-size spring bars to hold your strap in place.

Good idea with the spring bars! Thanks!

Alright - second bit of help needed.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to fit the steel band to my Pam. It doesn't seem to line up.

Are there instructions somewhere? Thus far the pin holes are far from mating up.

Thank you, as always,

I if I push it in as far as I can, the holes aren't even half way lined up.

According to this site, it's not possible to attach a bracelet to a 44mm Panerai without some kind of adapter. I'm confused as to why I paid $30 extra for the steel bracelet when, in fact, it's not possible to use it.

I would love to be wrong though, I just can't seen to figure it out.

Is that one of Mark's mini fiddy cases?

It may be that you have a Luminor bracelet and the lugs on this fantasy are incompatible.

I am by no means an expert, but I think I have the same watch and have had two of these rep bracelets (which are of poor quality, IMHO).

Yes, its from Mark. He wrote me and said that I should find out how to do it on RWI because he's never done it.

So, $30 extra and it's useless. Frustrating.

That's a 1950 44mm case. The bracelet is made for a "normal" 44mm Luminor case. It's not going to fit, sorry.

Thanks for the reply. I'm somewhat relieved that I'm not an idiot - but frustrated that Mark sells it as an add on.
