Hi
My gen pam has stopped! :-( it's a hand wind model.... All was ok, I went on vacation for 2 weeks then came bAck wound it up and it was fine... Then several hours later its Stopped.

should be same movt as a 111.

My question to you guys is what could it be? I can set the time but the seconds hand isn't moving round. It feels fully wound and I can't wind any further.....

Any suggestions?

Cheers all

Could be a busted mainspring, how old is the watch?

I think it's 2009 or 2011. So not that old. As it wasn't used for a while I was thinking be maybe some dirt in the movement?

It's possible but I don't thing that is the case. It is a close case model so you can't see if the balance is free and or if something has come loose. Can you set the time on it, in other words can you spin the minute and hour hands with the crown? Any resistance, also have you wound the watch to the point it can not be wound any further or does it continue to allow you to wind the crown? If you can wind endlessly and you hear a tick, it is your mainspring, it has broken and will not hold spring tension.

Thanks Marlin. I can set the time and move the hr and minute hands.... It's just the seconds hand doesn't want to tick.

Watch is fully wound. To the point where I can feel resistance and it doesn't want to go any further.... Just wish I had a case opener for a peak!
Any ideas??

If you get tension on the crown when wound the mainspring should be intact, good news. Get a sticky rubber ball press it to the case back and turn. Once open shake the watch and see if the balance wheel sways back and fourth, to insure it is free and the hairspring is OK.

Forgot to mention, be careful when you open the case, there might be something loose inside and you don't want it flying out and getting lost.

If this is a Gen do not open it yourself send it to PAM or have a registered Smith look at it.
