From this angle I'm just not sure. Can one of our PAM experts tell if this is the new (incorect bezel) or old (correct bexzel) model case for the PAM 196?

It a bit hard to tell at this angle.

However, it looks like a old school 196 to me as it has a higher bezel (the latest version do not have a ring gap/thickness between the bezel and the case)

Other areas to say that it is an old school 196 are the lume stick at 6 o'clock (the old version is very near to the 6 o'clock sub dial which is incorrect on a gen). Next will be the recessed date wheel. Bold date font for the old school 196 and thinner date font on the latest version.

Another way to find out whether it is an old school 196 is to look at the caseback. Old school caseback only had the word "daylight" engraved whereas the latest version has both the "luminor" and "daylight" engraved.

The old school 196 is very hard to find now as the rep factory has stopped producing it. I remember I read some threads/posts here or RWG that the date corrector at 10 o'clock work when you transplant a ETA 7753 into the old case whereas it will not work on the latest version.

Hope this info helps.

I agree with taiji. It *appears* to be an old case, but it's hard to tell. Can you have the seller take a picture directly from the side of the watch? It would appear to be the older dial, so unless they built this watch from parts, it SHOULD be the old case, too.

Thanks guys. If I might get you to share just a bit more of your expertise. I requested a picture of the back. Here is what I recieved. Any guesses on the movement from this shot? The reason I ask is I want to make sure I'm not getting pitures of two different watches. Thx

The rotor on mine is not decorated (Swiss 7753). Is this claimed to be Asian or Swiss? My caseback is a G series but a different serial number, FWIW.
