Calling on babola, joejoejoe, hooligan, and all other pannie freaks....

I've been looking for a sausage dial 111 for a while to convert into a 001b.
How does this dial look? Its an old school 111 from Josh.

Looks pretty good to me. As good as anything else that's out there right now, IMO. The big question is, does Joshua still have that watch available....

Its a watch that I bought off another member. All he knows is that its from Josh/swiss 6497/2 yrs back.
Doesn't have the swanneck, so I was going to convert it into a 001b. I was considering Angus's 111e, but the fonts look
a bit thin on his dial? Is this true?

There appear to be 2 different dials used on Angus' "Ultimate" 111E. One of the dials had thinner indices/numbers. I don't think there were any big differences in the fonts, though. You've got one of the good old-school dials there, with good spacing between the 6 and the "L Swiss L" and everything.

That one is a keeper, trust me.

@hooligan: thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated! I just want to get a good dial to get vaclumed & pin fix.
I didn't want to go through the money & hassle to find out I didn't begin with a good base watch

NP.

Is that CG brushed or polished? I think the 001B should be polished with a brushed lever.

IMO, if this movement is solid, this is a great foundation to have modified.

I'll post pics of my Angus 111E when it gets here so you can compare....

The Dial looks good - looks exactly like my 111E dial exact it's got ivory markers (mine is very greenish).

But do I see a little extra border around the markers though? (like as in 082)?

Is it worth sending off to vac for pin/lume job?
Or is angus's case/crown/cg so much more superior?
Keep in mind I got this watch for almost nothing.

I don't see anything wrong with that case/CG.

I say definitely worth it to send to vaccum. Have the movement cleaned/serviced while you're there. That should give you a rock solid watch for the next 4-5 years.

I think it's worth modding. I would also ask Vac to flatten the CG lever pin (so it sits more flush to the CG) a little more. The crown looks good, and the dial is awesome as well. Basically I agree with hooligan ;)
