PAM dilemma...

Hello PAM experts, can anyone pls give me a hand...

I ordered a Pam359 ST2555 non-inverted but unfortunately it's just went out of stock. My second option is Pam565 with A7750 which is less likely reliable than the seagull. My question is, if the watch is well taken care of, how long on an average will the watch live without undergoing service?

Thanks in advance.

It's a crap shoot. It may go for a few years problem free, or hiccup tomorrow and require servicing ASAP.

It's hard to tell.. A7750 movement is generally reliable but It's really hit or miss. They're not assembled in the cleanest environments and sometimes are not lubricated properly. Best advice if you plan on keeping ANY rep watch is to have it serviced to ensure it lasts a long time. Servicing isn't too expensive if you use one of the forum modders.. For example I actually broke my a7750 on a Breitling I used to own changing the date incorrectly and I sent it out to speedy G. He fixed and fully services/ regulated the movement and gave the entire watch a polish for well under $200

Honestly you should be fine - i have the 359 with A7750 in it and it runs like a charm. A7750 gets a bad reputation but its usually for chronos with seconds at 6 or at 12. With this watch, you have minimal complications so you should be fine. I am sure there will be more stock of the 359 with St2555 - you can wait for more stock or order the A7750. I would not expect you to have to service this watch right away for any reason.

I'd agree with our Russian friend here. :)

Odds are in your favor for the 7750 being okay for a fair length of time, especially with no chronos. I always follow 2 simple rules with mine and nary an issue. The first is I always no matter weather I think the watch is at am or pm I always adjust the time until I'm positive the date changer is disengaged prior to setting the date. The second is I get them going with a few swirls and avoid hand winding them.
