You have to be patient, barely half a day and you're already complaining about no replies?
Anyway as simply stated by viper420, it is due to the domed crystal. The structure of the crystal creates an optical effect such as what you see when the watch is viewed from the side, you can see a mini version of it in the date cyclops (which is also domed). It's also the same on gen crystals as they should also follow the laws of physics. :lol:

And most pam comes with dome crystals as per gen.
Keep in mind that not all pam have sapphire crystal installed as per gen. Something to take note in case someone ever asked why does their pam have a scratch on their crystal.

It's a combination of the domed shape, as well as the rather thick sapphire. Pam crystals are much thicker than you are probably use to.
One thing I have noticed odd about the crystal on my most recent purchase, is that when viewed from the side, the dial drops away. Exactly the opposite of what my other pams do.
This is on a 571, however, when I view the crystal on my 24 gen, it looks as though the crystal is optically raised rather than sunken. Odd!
The sunken visual is similar to how a dial looks when a watch is turned away from you when it is under water.
I have no idea why this is the case.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My 571 does NOT have this effect. When I had a 382 it had the same effect the OP is talked about. Get Submersibles have this effect. Also I have seen a 571 Gen and it did NOT have this effect.... so. Who knows why some do and do not.
Sorry to pop out this subject again but anyone has a gen Pam and could take th e same picture of this doomed dial? To be honest, I have iwc, rolex, br rep and Pam Crystal (on my 390 and 005) still make me feel like rep Crystal are crap.

Trust me, they are the same. Recent noob and H factory crystals match gen in terms of clarity. The cyclops is not as good, but the crystal itself is very nice. If you want a crystal with no refraction, and want an auto movement, choose one of the more recent Daylight chronographs like the PAM356, or the PAM029 GMT.

And I have a Pam 390 from h factory bought 3 years ago. How much the crystal has been improved? I am still in between when I see the v2, v3, v4, va versions...

The picture of the gen 390 clearly shows the domed Crystal that look the same on my rep!
This point is clear for me so thanks!
And do you know how much Crystal has been improved by rep factory? My 3 years old 390 h factory crystal is really less good than the latest one?

I love domed crystals I had one installed on my DLC PAM 029M minus the cyclops. Oh and 2xAR also!
