PAM Chronos... 188H & 196H, vs. 236K? Looking for advice

**edit, looks like the 251 daylight is the direction this is steering towards. Any reviews or tells/mods?

Hooked into the PAM chronos, and the 188/196 white/black faces are really appealing to me.... along with the black 236K.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be the plethora of information on these that exists for the 005/111/177 etc.

Can anyone lend some advice along the lines of reliability, and most importantly accuracy to gen? Erring a bit to the side of the white faced 188, as I've got the new 005 with its simple, beautiful black face on the way.

Thanks!!

If you are looking for the best for ultimate daylight with A7753, go for PAM251 or 236k

The dial accuracy is highly accurate for both.

However, the logo is missing on 236 caseback where it should be present. PAM251 is a winner as it has a logo on the caseback per gen.

I made a mistake saying that "Panerai never made "H" series for PAM196 and 188"

Thanks to member Juancodb, Panerai did made PAM188H and 196H.

Information corrected.

However, I don't think so that the H series daylight have roller lever tip.

Check out the bezel for 196 if you really going for one. It should be polished. Some earlier batch came with brushed bezel which are totally incorrect.

Hope the info helps.

Thanks for the info, it is definitely appreciated.

It looks like the 251 is the preferable one to go for in regards to accuracy. After looking at the 251 on Puretime, does the A7753 movement have the sunken datewheel issue that the A7750 had? I know the ETA7753 is obviously correct in its flush date. Their pics make it a bit difficult to tell with the lack of much angle.

Does anyone out there have a recent model with some photos to compare to some gen stock photos?

Thanks!

no the A7753 does not have the sunken wheel. the date is adjustable from the push button at 10, just like the gen.

I think they actually made it...

Hi Juancodb,

You are right.

There are H series made for both the PAM188 (700 pcs produced and 196 daylight with 1500pcs produced).

Got mixed up with another model.

Sorry for providing the incorrect info and information has been corrected in my previous post.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Don't worry friend, in fact you made me do research because I have the same model (196) and it has an H caseback :)... you are right about the roller ball lever tip on the 196H, that model didn't have one.

hi to all,

Usually the trusted dealers (check front page section "Trusted Dealers").

Also check out roosters dealer survey, that gives you an indication of how the dealers are percieved in terms of quality and customer service.
