I've been lurking here for a while, mostly soaking up on everyone's contributions. It wasn't until recently have I felt comfortable enough to narrow down my first order in the rep world.

The PAM571 Luminor Submersible 1950 has really sparked my interest. I know it's considered a super rep by Ale. For me at 47mm, it just feels right.

I am interested to hear of your opinion if there are other submersibles that might be more appropriate as my first purchase.

Thanks for reading.

Any reason in particular for the PAM571? I'm not sure how far you've gone into looking at reps because there are definitely people who still happily purchase first class reps and continue to be happy with them (I for one am one of those people). Reps being classified as super rep certainly isn't be-all and end-all. You have to really look into WHY first class reps don't actually earn super rep classification.

Point is, look for a rep you actually like first and find out if it's a super rep; not find a super rep then decide which model you'll like. I personally think you're compromising with the latter method of decision..

Most newer Lum Subs that V6F/KW and Noob produces are very good reps. If you'd like to stick to titanium there's PAM305, 364, 569, 389. There's the ceramic 508, bronze 382, carbon 616. The 616 is still at a very early rep stage tho, they're not exactly getting it yet.

I hope this helped!

Good choice. I don't have a 571 yet but it won't be long. I agree with above. Others for consideration would be the 569KW, 364Noob, 389KW, 508KW, 382KW. Wouldn't bother with the 616 just yet. Don't worry too much about which will be your first purchase, the fact that you refer to it as your first purchase means it won't be your last. Run with the 571 and come back for the 508 or 389 next. They're all great. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I've got KW 571, 389, and 508 subs. All three are great and very high quality. The distinction of the 571 is that it has 12 and 6 on the dial. That may be a benefit and selling point for you, as most of the other sub models use baton indices. 389 is a very beautiful model with the black bezel and Ti case as well, and the 508 is very striking, but not an every day watch for me.

I own a 571. Its pretty good. Order whatever you think you will enjoy. If you don't like it you can easily sell it for what you paid for it in the Members Sale Thread.

Thank you for everyone's input. The 571 is definitely my first but not the last. I currently favor titanium over other materials but that can easily change. Will report back once the watch arrives.

There is another question, will you suggest the Asian 7750 movement or the Asian 23J movement?

Considerations from ihs0yz and Norrie are very good and interesting. Thanks for take the time to write them

I personally would concentrate my decision on PAM 571, 364, 569 and 508, just a taste matter

Regarding A7750 or Seagull, it finally is a taste matter. I would prefer Seagull if the price is lower, but you cannot go wrong with A7750
