Hey Guys!

I thought I would put some feelers out there for something I am trying to accomplish on my PAM 569.

I recently got a PAM 569 V6F and I would like to re-brush the bezel. I have already removed the bezel, that was quite easy. But now the markers are not coming out. I think they are glued in as I do not see a way for them to be screwed in. I've tried using very small round head screw drivers to bust the markers out, but they wont budge!

Does any one have any recommendations? Maybe I sound put some "goof-off" on the back side to let it dissolve the super glue.

I don't want to push too dang hard or I may end up bending the bezel....probably very hard to do that to be honest since this is titanium.

Below is a picture of the back side of the bezel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Seeing a V6 bezel's underside for the first time on a thread here stopped me from attempting the re-brush for the very same reason. I'm not sure but I think someone here used a small drill to remove it and then glued it back. Will see if I can find that thread.

Toro just informed me that the markers are screwed and super glued as well....doesn't look like I will be getting them out anytime soon.

You may wanna check this Tut out mate:
Bezel on your 243 V1 or V2 got you down?

R2D4 explains how to do it, but you may wanna check how to properly remove the superglue.

Some posts below you'll see a member explaining how and why he had to drill but that was on a ZF bezel.

Personally, I'll wait till my 569 gets really scratched before attempting the re-brush.

Let us know how you progress on this ;)

Cheers!

I'm going to use my small fiberglass pen and see if I can smooth it out. I really don't want to drill out the markers. I feel like I would screw it up! I used some high grit sand paper on one spot and it looks okay. Much better than before, but you can still tell where I polished.

If you look between the 15 and 20 marker, you can see where I used 350 grit sand paper. I hope when I use my fiberglass pen and ink eraser, I can get that smoothed out a bit. I hate that these markers are in the way! It would be so much easier if I could remove them!

Hey Y'all!

Wanted to give a quick update. So I went and found a Ink Eraser on Amazon....how do no stores have an ink eraser (I think I went to 5 different locations). Anyway, the Ink Eraser does actually work very well! You have to have some patience with it, but after you are done, it looks just like new.

It probably helped that I used some sandpaper prior to the Ink eraser, but I feel it would have gone the same even if I didn't. It may have just taken a bit longer.

Thanks for the update. Do you have a link for that ink eraser or pic of it?

I have a couple of beaten up bezels that need a make over?

Hey there!
I use this : http://tombowusa.com/mono-sand-eraser.html

Holds up well and does a great job. I also use a fiberglass pen prior to using the eraser.

Glad you managed to sort it out just fine mate!
After doing a great job on my Ti buckles, the fiber glass pen left an uneven 'polish' on my 569 bezel so I may give this ink eraser a try.

Visible under some specific angles and strong light, but it's there between the pearl and the 15 marker.

Yes it left that on mine too. But with a bit of work with the eraser it evened out nicely. I use the fiberglass pen to remove the "deeper" hairline scratches.
