PAM 518/520 from Puretime - Now Released

Here we go guys ... the 518 & 520 are now out.

Initial thoughts are .... they should have spend some more time on the movement

Unfortunately, don't expect many things from these replicas
See crown, crown tube , length of chrono pushers, dots and markers lume shape on 518, shape of minute hand, colour of hands, length of big second hand, PANERAI inscription, thickness and sharpness of minute markers on dial, engravings between the lugs, distance between subdials, subdial @3 on 520, colour of printed markers in PAM 520....

The gen is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen...and yes, I did see the gen at the Pam boutique in NY. It is outstanding. This rep is not cutting it though. Dial print sucks, hands are wrong..too long, case shape is wrong, chrono pushers stick out too far, and the movement...are they kidding with those stickers????? If this rep were releases in 2007 it might have been OK/acceptable, but reps have come a long way. There are so many better options out there for much less money.

..............and the engraving on the case back stating 'AU750' for gold when it should read 'Pt950' for Platinum. Not a great rep and as a Panerai enthusiast I'm not really feeling it for this model anyways, whether it be gen or rep. Needless to say I won't be investing in one.

Angus posted a different one now on repgeek - saying its from v6F factory - i am getting so confused by all of the names given to watch makers these days. anyway its clearly different - shorter pushers, shorter crown tube, different hands, different movement 'decorations' if you could even call it that. Still far off if u ask me:

Those photos looks great, but still could use little improvements. I really do like this watch and hope for better versions to come out

Thnks for for the link Evora - dial and finish look much much better from KW which is expected. Crown and pushers do indeed look much better, but I have to say I am still very disappointed In the finish of the movement. As mysterio previously mentioned in another thread I believe - this copy of the Venus movement has all of the necessary components to make a very close copy of the movement. A little bit more time spent and detail added and they could have made this truly amazing. For now, this is just not up to par and I think we They can do better - I'll pass on this one .. Just my thought

I totally agree with Ruski, kw is much better but it still needs serious improvements.
Nonetheless I'm very happy to see a lot of interest in this rep with this new and far better version out shortly after the first effort shown by Puretime.
Hopefully good things will come to those who wait

Another flaw of these watches (PAM 518 and PAM 520) is the material
Gen PAM 518 is made of Platinum
Gen PAM 520 is made of White gold
Besides the obvious inaccuracy of material and WEIGHT (!!!) there is a problem of credibility because these watches are really expensive

I saw a 183 rep in Sead's section (here) that was described as platinum plated.
I don't know for sure if it's true, but the case looked like it had a colder and more white color and a strong polished effect, do you think this could be a viable option for the makers?

I think Sead is meaning: Movement 6497 Platinum plated not the case

Hey guys, I have been wanting the PAM 520 and 518 for a while, and since its been two years since their release, would it be safe to go ahead and buy the KW version. Do you think that maybe they will make a better version?

The 520 KW looks pretty good, but the 518 KW has a more white dial, that the ivory from the gen and I really love the ivory dial. Any insight would be really nice.
