Hi all,

It's been a good 6 years or so since I last posted or even bought a rep for that matter. A lot has changed on this forum since then and it's gone from strength to strength, which is fantastic to see this community thriving.

Anyways, one of the last pieces that I bought was a PAM 448, my first and only PAM. I loved the simple california dial and the fact that they did it with a ridiculously domed crystal, which later proved to be a problem in itself. After a few months of wearing it I suddenly noticed a deep scratch in the crystal and have kept it shelved ever since. I found it deep in one of my drawers and am now thinking about possibly getting the crystal replaced seeing as how the watch runs fine.

I've so far been unable to find replacement crystals that would match the one already on it, can anyone help point me in the right direction as to where/how I can source it?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Take a look here. I think the very bottom one which is also for a127 would work for your watch. The other option is to reach out to prof and see if he has the correct crystal in stock

Thanks a lot, greatly appreciate it. It says it fits the 424 which is pretty much the same as the 488. I think I'll order it and hope it will fit my rep as well.

The 127 and 448 crystals are not compatible.. The shape alone is vastly different with the 448 being a 'pot' style with straight sides showing above the bezel and a slight dome shape, where the 127 is a completely domed shape with no edges showing above the bezel. I also believe that the 448 xtal is around .5/1mm larger in diameter.

If I were you I would remove the xtal from your watch and use the precise measurements to source another - Ali Xpress has many many sellers.

This is closer to what you need IMO - though please do your diligence as I'm not sure of the thickness of the 448 xtal.

the 448 has a plexi crystal so you should just be able to polish the scratch out with some plexiwatch polish

I checked these out on AliExpress as well. I guess I'll have to take the crystal out and try to measure it. Thanks for the advice

It's more of a crack than a scratch, it's quite deep and I did try to polish it but it's definitely still there. Thanks for the recommendation though
