What are your impression of the PAM 438 Tuttonero?

I think its a beauty.

If it was available as a replica (which if probable not going to happen for a while or ever) I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

i agree. it looks awesome. not many watches with ceramic bracelets around. theoretically, i think it can be repped(apart from the movement ofc, but that hasnt stopped super reps of 305, 359 etc). the replica factories are quite adept at working with ceramic, even cheap versions of the chanel j12 are done quite nicely.

Not my cup of tea. Large, PVD, auto, vintage color lume (why on a modern pvd???).... I'd rather see the 372 and 399 repped properly;)

I agree it is a beutiful and cool watch. Really awesome
And, leaving aside the movement, it would be possible to copy it nowadays
No problems with ceramic, dial, GMT, crystal, bracelet...Just the movement problematic, with a display caseback.

But I agree partialy with karesz 372 and 399 are awesome and intersting too !!

The funny thing about this watch is that it's already been repped, but with silliy flaws that make it a deal breaker for me:(among others) unmatching lume color on hands, date font and numerals. For me,tuttonero was the most highly anticipated watch (or rep thereof) and I find this situation rather frustrating. If there's no news abpout upcoming superrep I might reconsider buying a 359 and sending it to kroexist for PVD job...The other option would be reluming the dial of the existing low quality rep,but that might be to expensive...What do you guyz think?

Reluming is a fraction of DLC/PVD coating, and it supposed to be ceramic as you pointed out ;)

BTW, I was referring rather the dark color it has, it simply does not appeal to me. Good luck in your quest mate!

If you like only a similar watch with black colour OK

Obviously if you want a replica of Tuttonero this is not the way. No lume, no ceramic material or inscription, no GMT, no bracelet, no movement...

Yeah,pvd-ing 359 would only make it simmilar style of course. But what about modding this low quality rep:http://img3.watcheden.net/products/167/167862/20120726141343_605758.jpg

The lume color is a catastrophe, the pvd doesen't look very convincing but thats the only one we have for now.I'm surprised noob et consortes still haven't decided to rep it(or have they?).If the bracelet is the problem,to be honest I would rather have it on asso personally.

if you really want to try something, how about ceramic coating? heres two examples in two different colors and finishes.

newblahblah: wow, that looks awesome, mate! That't exactly what I had in mind,I like the texture much more than "usual" PVD.Do you have any info on who's doing this and what's the approximate cost?Untill recently I never liked experimenting with good reps, trying so hard to get the most accurate one and then change it into fantasy model, but this has changed and I think experimenting with different mods is a whole new dimension of the rep hobby (or anny hobby for that matter)...

the link of the site is on the first pic. you can ask them for a quote, just mail them asking that you have a panerai homage that you want coated. its not too expensive. if you do get around to having it done, just send them the case instead of the whole watch. no use showing around your high end rep and risking customs.
