I've spent a bunch of time reviewing Ale's resource guide, but can't find any comparisons of the most recent Noob vs H Factory 390s. Can anyone share their experience and/or pics?

**closed - found the answers to my own questions.**

thanks!

Thanks Bozz. I've read both of those comparisons. Have actually been reading every single thing I could find over the past few weeks, and finally decided to put it to bed and ordered the Noob from Toro this morning. There were things I really liked about the HF, but most of what I found substantiated you comment, which is that the Noob is better overall. Funny thing is I was obsessing over the most minute details.

My daily beater is a gen 112J that I bought new in 2007. Have been a Panerai enthusiast for a decade and now know more about reps than I know about gens. It's very easy (and interesting) to get caught up in analyzing and comparing details in hi-res pics online that would never be noticeable on a wrist in the wild. I live in a pretty affluent suburb of Boston, and NO ONE ever comments on my 112. The likelihood that anyone I know would be able to tell the difference between a Gen 390, a Noob 390, and a HF 390 is zero...I'm super anal so want the best rep I can get, but there are tons of amazing options at this point.

Now just gotta wait for a really good 372 and/or 422...but not holding my breath.

Cheers!

As unmodded watch, Noob 390 is the winner imho. HF dial is better thann Noob, but all other Noob parts are the best (I dont know if the V6F 390 dial is better. Recently all new KW dials rocks).

Here a comparo between HF and Noob cases:

https://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/221602-Noob-V4-caseset-vs-new-HF-caseset-(PICS)

And here a comparo of 390 dials:

Thanks Bozz for the reminder

But for some reason, now I cannot see the pic of dials comparisons
Could you send me by PM the links or the pics directly by e-mail?

Thanks in advance

Damn, I noticed just now! The pics were on the old PB account, deleted for some problems some time ago... I hope to have another opportunity to take new pics from new HF and Noob 390s... sorry for the inconvenience.

Welcome mate, I built about twenty modded 390s in the past, trying different assemblies... one of my preferred pams.
With the right parts you can reach a result very close to the gen, almost impossible to spot to the naked eye without opening it. karesz501 , a great member here, bought the best modded 390 ever built by me. Maybe you can ask for some pics ;)

Here a pic from my archive, but I dont remembr the "mix"

i believe if you want one of the best PAM 390s OTB, the noob v4 is the way to go. however if you want the best then you prolly have to build a hybrid of both H and Noob 390. heres a pic of mine serviced and built with advice given from Bozz.

H Parts - Dial, Hands, Movt and Crystal
N Parts - Midcase, Bezel, Caseback, Crown & Crownguard

Got my Noob 390 today...

Got my Noob 390 today. Posted a quick review on the Toro Buyer Review page, but figured I'd post something here as well.

Was a great experience overall. Good communication, nice QC pics, quick shipping, well packed, arrived as expected.

As for the watch itself, it's beautiful!!! The strap is a piece of junk, but I immediately swapped in a brand new GSD Horween Natural Dublin with antique stitching that looks fantastic.

The case and case back are superb.

The bezel, crystal, sausage dial, hands, lume, and crown guard, although maybe not perfect, are damn good.

The crown lever is firm enough, but doesn't engage or disengage like a gen, and the crown doesn't wind exactly like a gen (there's less resistance and the click is a little bit anemic), but those are small details in the grand scheme of things.

Overall, a great watch, a great deal, and a great experience.

^ The strap that came with the watch looks ok, but feels cheap and uninspired.
