I know.....completely different design.....I know.... it's a matter of taste but I also know i can't decide which one I like more and should order. hahahahaha....any advise from the experts and Panerai enthusiasts???

The 389 has a more interesting bezel but the 984 has a sandwich dial which is better for lume, not to mention being a more interesting unique pam feature than markers. The crystal printed logo seems to be love it or hate it so you should decide which side of that line you're on. If you're concerned with anyone 'outing' you the former model is more believable.

I would define it like this: - If you did not have a 47mm panerai submersible before, then take pam389. It is closer to the panerai classic. - If you tried different pams and want something new, then 984/5 is a wonderful choice, because, probably, this is not the most typical submersible.

For me, I was a little reluctant about the 984 and then I got it and I loved it. Absolutely loved it.

In fact, everyone I know who wears it or has one likes it more in person than they do in pics and in theory.

For that reason, I say go with the 984 because if these are your two favorite models right now, in person the 984 will be better irl you will love it more than 389 imo.

Thanks for all the feedback, really appreciate it! I guess the 389 would be more different from my existing watches due to the black bezel. I own a Breitling Avenger II Seawolf and an AP Diver hence the PAM 984 maybe looks too similar? It’s really a tough decision since I love both designs !

Definitely 984.
when 984 was released I hated it. To me it looked like ugly yacht master on steroids then after a year or so I knew I have to own that watch!
i really love 984. It’s one of my favorite panerai watches.

It got here today (well its the 985) and I'm happy as a mo'fo.

The 984/5 are different. The 389 is just another submersible imo.

Now that it's here I remember how much I loved it and how much fun it is. Ive been changing straps all day.
