Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any insight into if there is a difference in reliability and noise of the A7750 movement vs the seagull. Def want the 388, now to just decide which movement ect.

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)

I initially was drawn to the KW fact with the seagull inverse with mainspring at 6 and p9000 imprinted on movement in the correct (ish) spot, but figured I would throw it up here and get some other peoples input.

Both are good movements, but I'd lean towards the seagull as build quality is more consistent.

I like 7750 a lot, very silent and reliable.
Never had a single problem and I have many 7750s running

Just a quick question here, isn't the 7750 a Chronograph movement? Why is it being used in watches that do not have a chronograph? I've noticed this in many other watches here on this forum. Am I missing something?

This was done previously because it's a reliable high beat movement even for a 3 hander.

Now there are more other alternatives like miyota etc

So it's actually running a fully functional chronograph movement but there are no Chrono hands on the dail?

They just remove all parts for the chronograph.

Here is a 7750 without the chrono parts

And this is a 7750 with a chrono

The base 7750 is a solid movement. I would always go with the 7750.

Thanks, but isn't that a bit unnecessary if not, wasteful? Why don't they use other reliable non-chrono movement? I'm sure there are other options that using a 7750.

Because the 7750 is the only movement with the sec@9 and a date function.
Next to the seagull st2555 of course

I have two 388s both with 7750 and the movements are silent and flawless , I got them both near mint condition on M2M though one the crown screw down is a bit out of wack and the other the date alignment is not perfect...If I were to ever buy a genuine PAM it would be the 388 or 424 , I love the Radiomir case. They keep perfect time and I'm sure they are both near two or more years old.

Owh, thanks, it makes sense now. So I'm guessing it's because of that, the 7750 movement is popular amongst many Panerai reps because most Panerai have a sec@9?

Question - I have a dead Hublot HBB which uses the 7750 with the chrono and secs at 9. Could I replace the movement with a 7750 from one of these pams? And just have a non functioning chrono? I don't use the chrono at all and see that cheap PAMs come up often so I could just get the movement. I'd be happy with just running seconds and time keeping and date on the HBB.

you can pick up a new A7750 on ebay for around $120 with chrono intact. Why would you want the headaches? you still need a post for the subdial hands to be on.
