PAM 386 scratch repair

Hey guys - I have a PAM 386 that is in need of a refinish on one of the lugs. Doesn't even have to be perfect - but it's such a glaring scratch.

Any ideas?

Is that ceramic or just coating? If its coating some of the members here might be able to fix. Good luck man

I think this one was a coating. Ceramic wouldn't get damaged like that. I believe the gen used some sort of interesting material and the rep just copied the look. Might be a PVD coating.

In terms of repair, not sure if anything can be done! You'd have to re-coat the entire watch which could be more expensive than just buying a new rep or a newer model. I'd recommend grabbing an actual ceramic PAM. Although I've never owned a ceramic Panerai, I've had a bunch of ceramic Big Bangs and they're very durable in terms of scratch resistance and finish.

I already have a ceramic 438 I love the face on this one though. Sigh maybe I'll just sell it at a loss.

I wouldn't even worry about it man. If memory serves, this model was never released for sale anyway. The look of it is very unique and no one will know the difference between a composite and PVD/DLC case. Wear it in good health!! If it were perfect, it wouldn't be a rep ... it's cool either way!

Honestly, the amount you'd spend repairing it, you might as well sell it and buy another from the TDs (or find one M2M). I love mine (wearing it right now), but Im going back and forth on whether to add a 441 to the collection. Funny enough, I have an 087 arriving tomorrow (damn this hobby).

Can't you sand it then spray a flat paint that matches the rest of the watch?
