If I can put the value of it to one side, it's got loads of character.

I actually like really that.

I was at work recently, heated up a piece of stainless steel. As it cooled it took on a colour very close to bronze. Made me wonder if a case could be heat treated to give a similar effect? This has got me thinking now...

I would be really pissed if I went to the beach and my watch ended up looking like this. To each their own I guess just not for me.

it can be polished. But I really freaking love that patina. If you have anything bronze it going to have patina over time. The owner had to know that.

I actually like the green corrosion splotches and the salt crust.

The watch has questionable value to begin with.
And now it looks like it belongs in a trash can.

How is the value questionable? its like any other luxury watch, inflated price due to brand name. Just because this one is bronze and develops a patina makes it no less valuable than a SS watch that won't. I would be worried about bezel function being lost though lol.

Beautiful! I must get a bronze watch, this confirms it for me.

It can, the colour varies from bronze to pink via all the shades of the rainbow depending on the temp it's heated to. There is a thread on it next door at RWG.

This is not "patina" wich is a layer of oxidation. This is "letting salt water dry on bronze".

Looks terrible

This is what it's looks like when done properly. http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/rwi-exclusive-rich-127860?t=127860

Yep - that panerai posted by OP aint what patina should look like...the helson above is!

To each their own, but if any of our reps aged like the panerai initially posted, we'd be calling it a cheap Chinese piece of s**t!

The "circle of rep" life. Years ago, people would talk trash about fake watches turning your wrist green... now expensive watches turning green is cool. Maybe I was just ahead of my time, and 15 years ago that $50 Folex was just creating a patina on my wrist.

The bronzo shouldn't turn your wrist green dur to its titanium caseback :)

I happen to like it, and if you want to get rid of the oxidisation you can, so it's win win
