PAM 346 KW Movement Identity & Longevity

Hello friends

I have been tossing up between a PAM 346 and 380 and I've been reading that the PAM 346 is more accurate to gen due to the spacing on the 380 dial. 346 is also on sale at the moment.

However as far as I know we do not yet know the identity of the PAM 346 KW "shanghai movement"... Has anyone found this out yet?

I've read some speculation that it is a modified A7750 and that it does not last long.

I plan on buying a watch as a daily beater and would really appreciate it lasting at least 2-5 years..
Has anyone had one since release day and is it still going strong? Has anyone's stopped working? Hoping you guys can help shed some light.

Thanks in advance

Mate , this is the question with no reply.
You must wait for some watchmaker or some calibers expert dismount it.
Then we will know the mystery... :)
I've bought this marvellous watch and will be in my hands next week. ;)

I know Kilowattore had this Radiomir and never had any problems. Then as all the watches might break the next day.... ;)
If , unfortunately , when I receive my 346 were to break , I will takeand I will get to friend watchmaker and will post the entire repair service....
I hope not. Anyway we will know if it should be all about the 346 caliber....

Hi friend
If the kw version you've ordered.
Then it's a handwind.

I've worked on this mvt before, and if I remember correctly, it's a highly modified 7750, which is how they have a date on a manual wind. The gear train layout is identical to the 7750, but the bridges are all custom made for this watch

Wow ! :)

Thanks dell'imput Strodda.....! :flowers1:
Therefore , the caliber of 346 would be no more than a 7750 modified without the rotor and custom bridges. Magnificent , so if you were to break the repair should not be impossible. I would say simple.
But the 7750 is an automatic caliber , the charging spring is not made for manual charging. After a little time you may break with too much solicitations.....?

The mainspring/barrel have been modified as well to have a "hard stop", so you know when it's fully wound.

I might still have some pics of when I took one apart. I'll need to look back and see if I can find them.

Interesting thread always wondered this myself about the 346 !!

Despite it having been modified with a 'hard stop' I have read that it is not advisable to manual wind 7750's (read it from the 7750 guide a while ago) kinda curious how this would last since you would need to wind it once in a while?

There was a review of the mvmt post breakdown for service posted about a year back. I did a quick search on my phone, but could not find it, but thats probably just Tapatalk acting up.

I have had my 346 over a year and she runs great, but I only use her once a week at most.

I am interested in 346 too, but would like to know more about the movement. I see that many people ordered the watch after kilo's review back in 2014. Watch is beautiful but it has to be somewhat reliable and at least serviceable. I am afraid my local watchsmith will refuse to touch shanghai 2002 movement.

Is there 45mm high level rep alternative running on 6497 (titanium with gold hands)? I really want the titanium Radiomir but may purchase instead 312 (ST2555 version).

I was able to find two pics, they won't be extremely helpful, but it's something. When I get home this afternoon I'll upload them. One pic is the rep barrel next to a swiss 7750 barrel and the other is just the movement... deco and winding gears removed.

Total brain fart yesterday on the pic upload, but here they are. As you can see the barrel, crown and ratchet wheels are the same as the 7750. But because of the lack of an auto bridge, the click for the ratchet needed to be custom made from our overseas friends.
