PAM 320 on a deployant

Hello everyone,

I wanted to chime in on the several threads that have been created over the years to discuss the use of rep PAM deployants on leather straps.

If the strap is thin enough it should work just fine.

I purchased a PAM 320 on the M2M forums with a faux croc strap and a rep buckle. I ended up purchasing an Orloff croc strap, but wanted a deployant to minimize the wear on the leather. So I purchased a rep rubber strap w/ deployant on a sister forum, and installed the deployant on my Orloff croc.

It worked almost perfectly. It took a little bit of trimming with a kitchen knife to have the strap fit the deployant (see image 3) on the 12 oclock side, but things fit near perfectly after a little fiddling ;)

This was one of my concerns as well -- I left the strap slightly on the loose side to error on the side of comfort. I have a desk job though, and I have yet to wear this to work. I could imagine the deployant becoming less comfortable with the wrists resting on a desk all day.

Honestly love mine. Dont really notice it at all.

Was the orloff made for deployant? Or a standard one you modded?

The Orloff strap was one of his premade ones, no doubt intended for the buckle (which fit like a glove). However the 6 o'clock end was thin enough to fit through a deployant, so I went for it ;) I hesitate to use the word modded just because it was a few cuts with a kitchen knife, but that was really all it took to work well with the deployant.

I purchased a used rep rubber strap that included the deployant on RWG -- I used the deployant but now have a spare rubber Panerai rep strap (if anyone needs one ;)
Thanks mate! If i didn't have, i would definitely take it.. it's really one of the essential straps.. now only missing deployant buckle ;)
