I am ready to order the V6F ceramic 292 and was wondering if anyone has experience with the brown asso strap vs the standard black one. The asso is offered as an alternate by Toro for an additional $20. Should I get both, or buy a gunny or other aftermarket?

Thanks!

Honestly that's up to your budget mate. The rep Asso looks quite nice, but don't last long and although decent are too far from the real thing.

I mean, if you're testing the waters go for the Asso but, one piece of advice, don't spend too much on rep straps.

We have a few very skilled craftsmen here that can make you a custom strap - that'll make that 292 pop - for just a little more money.

Cheers

I agree. I'd put the money towards something else. I used to run a GSD crazy horse which looked awesome on mine but since I bought a black Simona nubuck croc, nothing else compares.

If you do it right, you can make the rep asso really nice. Of course I agree with what's said above about putting your money towards a higher quality strap, but if you want that asso look, that's the best way to try it out. Here's mine on my 253.

Sweet looking combo mate! Gotta agree with you as well, but it's not so easy to achieve such a nice look ;)

All I did with mine was get it wet once (by accident). That darker shade stayed and has looked like that ever since...

Well of course I'm sure you can play around with the look with all that stuff too and have it then out quite nicely!

PAM 292 on Jacob black nubuck gator.
Idea for this combo came from fellow member Norrie.

Here are the two I mentioned earlier in the thread. Eschenpod's Jacob looks sweet. A taper does make it look sleeker and suits the rad case.

Nice exotic tapered for formal and vintage leather (tapered or not) for sporty.
