Hi folks:

During the strap change today on my Pam 292J V2 H factory I noticed the plastic cap at the end of the lugs (that goes into the case) were slightly damaged. They don't look too durable anyway.

I am wondering if it is worth getting the replacement lugs and the screws from panatime (the ones from the rep are pretty soft- even after applying loctite 222 the screws come loose after a few days wear)

http://www.panatime.com/nesetforrawa.html

I did some search and seems like some people had problem of lugs not fitted in enough / screws sticking out?

Or maybe that's as good as a rep radiomir will do and I should just keep it for parts?

Much appreciated

Panatime's lugs are great. They have little rubber gaskets that can be problematic, but overall, ensure a great fit into the log holes. Buy with confidence and don't scrap your 292 just yet.

Btw, if the gaskets make the lugs not fit correctly, feel free to remove them -- it will not affect their stability.

panatime lugs wont fit
the screws does fit perfectly though.
so now i just use the original rep lugs with panatimes screws, it's tighten much better than the rep screws.

Thanks for the tip. I did notice the structure of the lugs looks different from the one on pantime. I will order one and see how it goes.

Does removing the gasket affect the water tightness of the case ?

Panatime's are also gloss, not matte, so they won't match the case. The rubber gaskets didn't fit in my 292. Dremeled flat spots into the lugs but the connection was still loose. The screws ended up not being long enough.

The wire lugs are just a shit antiquated design in general. Even the gen owners complain. I actually cracked the ceramic case ring of my 292 in half trying to make the lugs not wiggle. Was pissed, said f it, and tossed the whole thing. I'm never buying a wire lug radiomir again.

Hmm now I have second thoughts about this lol. Yea overall I just don't see how the lug design can hold up over time. Such a shame. Just glad this is not a gen lol

If I were you I'd wait until the next time you buy a watch from a TD and ask them to include some 292 lugs and screws with the order. I was not satisfied with the gloss of the panatime lugs.

Wish I did a search and found the many threads of people complaining about cracked 292 cases before I bought mine.
