I purchased a PAM 28 (PVD Power Reserve with ETA Movement) several months ago from one of our dealers at a price of $500+.

After purchasing one GEN Panerai, and researching the models more thoroughly, it seems that the gen 28 has a hobnail dial. My rep has a plain black dial.

Looking at Andrew's site, the 28 he sell still has the plain dial, whil Josh's website shows the hobnail.

Here's my question. The 28 I have is too pricey to simply replace because of the dial, but I'd like it to be a more faithful rep. Are there options for replacing the dial?

Any input would be appreciated.

You have 2 choices.
1. change the case to SS and it will be PAM27A if the power reserve hand is arrow shape.
2. change it to hopnail dial and it will be PAM28A providing that the power reserve hand must be arrow.

One thing important there should be the T Swiss T on the dial of both PAMs.

For the price you paid, I believe the movement is ETA2892 which is the exact movement like gen. Just difference on decoration. I have both PAM27A and PAM28A with ETA movement. They works very well.
Here are mine.

just source the dial from Joshua, it'll run you about 40 bucks or so + shpping.

and have it replaced by Vaccum, Flav, or other modders (get it relumed too, if you're willing to go all out :))

If you bought this with rep PVD and are trying to make it as close to gen I would probably go the other way and source a SS case and convert to 27. The standard rep PVD (not same coating) is pretty far off.

PAM 28 PVD

You're correct on the PVD. It looks like black plastic. I read somewhere where there is a chemical you can trteat it with to lighten and dull the finish.

any fixes for the cyclops Kruzer?
I have heard the magnification is good, while others have said there is no cyclopes fix at all.
BTW I know Finepics has the right date wheel.
And a relume isn't necessary right? After all this is a T dial from way back when.
