I have read a few articles on the 253 but would like owners views of the assorted 253's available from our esteemed dealers.

Do you own one? Where did you get it from? What is the spec? and are you happy?

I would like one with decent movement, swiss if poss depending on price, and def good glass.

Look fwd to your responses :D

I got one from Ruby- good price- Sapphire with very light AR on interior only- Looks good. Keeps Ok time - I should probably regulate it - but chronos reset perfectly- Movement detailing on these is among the best of any watch out there. FEELS really good but I would yank it off that bad rubber deployant and put a good strap on it.

Side by side with gen many, many small differences- but I've had several real picky WIS types stare at it pretty good and nobody calls it out till I tell them!

Had Pam 253 for about 6 months. Looks and feel great on my wrist, but mechanically Asian 7750 copy was not as good as I expected. Had to do a cannon, main spring, take the mechanism apart and lublicate. Mineral crystal had exploded (dome 370) after 3 months. Replaced it w/a Plexi. Bought it on i0ffer from a well known dealer, but not know on this forum.

I just received one with the mineral glass a couple of days ago from the cartel boys. It is fairly impressive right out of the box. Some 253 rep versions numerals/hands are WAY greener than mine. The ones on mine are off white with just a small hint of green. The lume glow is a tad weak but some of the best I have seen on a rep out of the box. The illumination is very even from hands to numbers and markers. One of the few I would not pay $100 to relume and you would be lucky to get this close to gen color again.

The blue chrono hand really needs to be kicked up a notch with some other paint. When you stop looking at all these magnified photos on the site you notice it is VERY thin. The finish on the metal case is nice quality but could use a good polish as they all can.

There is supposedly strong AR on the mineral glass. It is very different. Unlike the sapphire, which casts the typical deep blue or purple hew, this one has just a hint of rather non-descript color and some extra clarity. I guess kind of more like eyeglasses. I don't think it is actually as effective at deflecting glare as sapphire. The domed crystal also kind of adds some unique distortion at particular angles. I thought the mineral glass would be cheap but it is actually kind of impressive in its own way. I would not be in any hurry to change it to sapphire and have a strong looking wrong AR tint color.

The chrono functions work flawlessly and it is accurate to 2 or 3 seconds a day so far. Mine came with the deployant rubber band. I also have a good carbon fiber (matches the waffle dial) with white stitching band I like on this. I may replace the white stitching with gold to match the hands. It has such a nice variety of colors it allows great versatility in bands. I liked it enough to make it my first and perhaps only Asian 7750. Believe me that took a lot!

The only challenge is that stupid loose CG lever. It stays closed, however it will eventually need attention. All things considered this one was actually quite a pleasant surprise.
