I know I'm not very active over here. I consider RWG to be my "home" but know there's quite a lot of members over here that are also over there.
For the last 9 months, I've been trying to get a sapphire crystal fabricated for my 253 for a group deal. After a sample mineral crystal was sent to various factories on 4 continents, A factory has finally produced a prototype with single inner AR (per gen) for me to try out and fit. Don't have a quote on any price since the factory is sending the prototype to me for free, but I'm hoping it won't exceed $100. I know it's nothing concrete, but the more interest the lower the price. I figure between RWG, RG, RWI and my spanish forum (Replik.as) we can hopefully get the best price possible. It should be arriving in the next couple weeks, and once the holiday season slows down I'll post up some pics and try fitting it on my 253.
It should fit all v2-v4 212s and 253s. If you're not sure which version you have post a pic of your watch and I can tell you whether or not it should fit.
Anyways, what I'd like to do is put together a "pre"-list of interested folks. This is nothing official as I haven't even seen the prototype yet. If it fits, I'll call the factory and figure out logistics, pricing etc.
Again, nothing about this thread is official until I evaluate the prototype and make sure it fits perfectly and also sort out pricing.
If you're interested and not already on the RWG or REPLIK.AS list, go ahead and start a list here so I can get an accurate gauge of interest around here. Hope all is well. Any questions, fire away!
