Hey guys, I've got a 243 and the black bezel paint on my 30 marker has come off completely. Do you know of a way to fill this back in and what paint should I use?

Bummed as this is probably my favorite watch. I wear it more than any other in my collection including my gens!

Same issue on mine but not completely, just a tad. I hope someone knows an easy DIY!

I had the same problem with my 389. It's a very easy fix. Just buy black lacquer and a very small brush. Clean the marker with a brush cleaner or something like that. Now use your small brush to refill the 30 at the marker with paint. Wipe the rest of the color from the marker. That's it.
I have used black lacquer for metal.

totally agree! a tiny brush and a bit of paint thinner on a soft cloth for clean up.

I used the same method for my 243 as I did for my sea dweller. Check out my guide in the rolex sub forum!

The faster fix is black nail polish. Use the brush of the nail polish, leave it a while to dry and wipe the rest of the color with acetone.
Lasts about a year maybe more.
I swim a lot with my 243 so this happens at least once every summer.
Hope that helps.

When it happens every summer why you don't use real lacquer instead nail polish?

I love the nail polish idea! enamel paint is a bit tough to work with. I will have to try the nail polish on my engraving fill job.

When this happened for the first time I was away on our summer vacation.
My wife had nail polish so I thought I could give it a try, and it worked.
And as Grim says,it's very easy to work with.
As long as the engraving is not very wide (as on the explorer II bezel ), it works wonders.

Buy a small black oil based paint pen off ebay. Works perfectly! Used for my DSSD

I've tried using the suggested ideas on one marker but I can spot the difference. Black lacquer or oil based pen leaves a shine while factory marker paint is dead matte. At certain lighting, I see that one marker "shines" out from the rest LOL. It makes the shade of black is very different.
