hello everybody. . . i'm new, but have been lurking for a while :D I just received my pam 243 from trevorwatch (hXXp://www.trevorwatch.info/index.php?m ... ucts_id=75) and was wondering if anyone else has purchased this watch from this dealer? If so, have you submerged your submersible and to what degree? I'm hesitant to try. . .

I did ask him and this was his reply:
"Yes, the pam 243 is water resistantI
I think you can wear it when you wash your hand.
I advise you don't wear it when you swimming
Thank you"

Just wondering what others' experiences were. . . thanks!

normally those rep watches do have ok water resistance, but again it is the matter of hit or miss. If you are lucky you might be able to swim with it or even dive with it. But you will never know, so the best way is to get it pressure tested at a local watch smith. It shouldn't cost you much.

I bought a Tag Heuer SLR from Trevor and it passed the pressure test. But I can only wash it can't swim with it.

You should definitely get it tested before going into water, you don't wanna ruin your new watch. :)

Never, ever, EVER believe a rep is water resistant unless you are willing to throw it in the trash right then and there. Take it to a local independant watch smith and get it tested. It should cost $50-70 and is well worth the expense.
Or, if you absolutely MUST swim with a watch on, get a Seiko, Casio, LumTec, Orient, or some other very nice inexpensive gen.
By the way - Orient has a 50% off deal going for a few more days. Enter "Watchseek 50" in the coupon code at check-out.

LvelManRoger- you've just spoiled a whole heap of potential fun! You should have said "absolutley. You can sciba dive to 10,000 meters & where it to the moon. Then when it broke the OP could've have gone on and on about how reps are sh1t....... You do know how to bring people back to reality.
cheers

Well fortunately, being an avid scuba diver (shy of 10,000 meters though) i have enough sense to realize a rep (regardless of quality) shouldn't be exposed to depths of any significance. . . . i was curious as to whether or not i needed to remove it before playing with my son in his kiddie pool (no dive gear necessary).

However, i do appreciate the info provided by nevikwen and levelmanroger which was exactly what i was looking for. . . as a result i will keep it dry until it is pressure tested.
thanks for the info.
