it's definitely a gen. good datefont, great crown guard, and the clincher is the J-series pin remover.

Can't speak to the gen configuration of the L Swiss L, as Panerai been known to change this from year to year on even the same model-- I have seen apparently gen pictures with the configuration shown on the original post's pictures.

The real tell is if there are J series lug hole release pins on the back of the lugs, for which you use the black plastic pin tool.
Also, if there are panerai inscriptions engraved on the inside and back of the deployant.
These are the 2008 antitheft measures from Panerai.

There is no rep to my knowledge that has replicated the J series lug hole release pins. The back of the deployant engraving is quite easy to replicate, DSN could probably do it tomorrow.

So if you get close up pictures of the back of this watch it is 100% gen. At least today it is. Also the abundance of serial stickers on the documentation and the box, if matching the watch, imply a gen watch too, as I haven't seen a good copy of those stickers... so far...

This watch is a gen J series PAM

You might have a pretty decent Davidsen copy, but the watch in the original post is definitively a gen.

Looking at the caseback pictures closely the J series bar release pins (for which you use the plastic pin tool) are clearly evident on the back of the lugs.

The dial configuration matches at least 3-4 dials for gen 240s that have been posted around the net.

The deployant and strap are identical to the J series deployant and strap on my gen J series PAM, and none of my reps deployants/straps come even close to the look and feel of these.

I can guarantee you that your Davidsen watch, while it may have a J serial or not, it does not have bar release pins on the back of the lugs.

But if someone copies the J series anti-piracy measures, fixes dial issues, and pairs them up with good cyclops and datefonts they are going to sell a lot of reps and Panerai is going to have a shit fit.

I refused to buy a gen PAM until the J series anticounterfeiting measures came out, and I will not buy another gen PAM until Panerai makes another round of antipiracy measures, unless it is an in house caliber like the 3 barrel 8 day power reserve.

J & A, are you listening???
