Hi all,
My Pam 217 was DOA on arrival from the post. So, I took it to a local watchsmith and had it serviced and cleaned. It now works flawlessly, and it's my daily beater. I love this watch - especially for my old eyes; I can read it without glasses :). Just a word of caution, I wonder if it's the cleaner or lubricates used to service the watch; the logo on the movement has faded. Not that it matters to me, just as long as the face is clean and runs well, but I thought you should know.

It probably does, I’m certain that the paint used by reps there is lower quality.

Interesting  must have washed off or dissolved in the cleaning process.

Simple low grade alcohol can wipe it out almost instantly.
And it appears its just printed, not engraved and paint filled.

Exactly. Rep movements should be serviced with special care. Even more careful than gen. What an irony.

Sometimes they make writings by stickers on bridges. It's an especially sophisticated PITA when serviced.
