I have just received this watch and really like it. Would you recommend that I have the movement serviced? I know that service is recommended for the Asian 7750.

Great watch I just recieved one too on a trade mine's an asian 7750, it's been on my wrist ever since :D . Enjoy yours!
(By the way mine has not been serviced running like a champ, you might just want to wait till you have a problem swiss 7750 is a pretty reliable movement.) Here's a pic mounted on a Bob Vertigo strap.

On another forum there has been considerable debate about whether servicing Asian 7750 as a preventive measure, or just waiting and see how it goes.

Since when Ziggy said that lacking of service does not necessarily make for a permanently damaged movement (it's not like a car running out of oil, he said) most members seem headed towards not have it serviced, especially if the cost of the watch (or of the movement) is not sensibly higher (say, 3x and up) than the cost of servicing it.

If this applies to Asian 7750, let you figure to ETA...

Think of it this way, after you get it serviced, how will you know when to get it serviced again? When it starts to run too fast/too slow or behave otherwise unexpectedly, right? I would think that is a good indicator for when to get it serviced the first time, too.

CLIFFs notes version -- wait until there is a problem to get it serviced.

212 movements

I now have both. My Asian 7750 is working very well - and is much smoother since serviced by Ziggy.

I will roll out some pics - as I took this one away - on a recent trip - but here's a taste:
