Close to ordering one of these pretty soon from Sead. Does anyone have pics/general thoughts to share? How is the quality of the rubber strap? Tight CG lever?

That's what I thought. Do you know if the date pusher has been fixed on these? What is the proper way to use it? Also someone tell me about the rubber! I may put it on a NATO strap as I think that might improve wearability on something so big.

edit: ordered, stay posted for QCs

I have the Gen and Rep rubber strap that comes with the 187... The gen strap has a good feel to it, and is only 150.00 (without a tang buckle), the rep feels a little different then the gen, but thats only because i wear the gen too. I dont think you will notice the difference... im actually waiting on the velcro dive strap to come in, has a good look to it, although I get varying opinions on how people feel with that particular strap. Date pusher isnt fixed yet, but you can change it with the crown.

Canada, but in Hungary... for now
I put mine on a 5 ring grey NATO and love it. The rubber was too short for me and I wanted something waterproof. They make an OEM XL rubber but it's outta my price range

So this watch is no problem in the swimming pool? I'm too chicken to try it out my other PAMs even though TDs have said it's tested to 3 ATM. Not sure how that equates to me diving into the pool after a 6 pack!:D:

Don't trust the TD's claims - get it tested. I tested mine to 5atm after greasing the seals.

Thanks, I definitely don't and now that I've found a good watchsmith, I might as well get them WP'd. 5atm sounds great, but what does that actually mean for real life. How does that apply? Shower, no problem. Get smashed by a 90 foot wave, probably not?

I think the stock rubber is very comfortable in my experience.

Ya, no 90 foot waves!
Here's a breakdown of ATM

3ATM - Water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.

5ATM - Water tested to 50 meters (165 feet). Suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water.

10ATM - Water tested to 100 meters (330 feet). Suitable for swimming and snorkeling.

@sardonix - I think the rubber is comfortable too, but because of my large wrist, I need to use the last hole and the buckle ends up in the wrong place on my wrist and is uncomfortable.

For me, I couldn't put a diver's watch on something that wasn't waterproof, so my choices were rubber, nylon, stainless steel, or waterproof leather. Di Stefano makes some incredible waterproof leather straps but they were out of my price range. I couldn't find a rubber strap I liked and I couldn't find a 26mm bracelet with curved lug ends, so a nylon NATO it was.
Just my 2 cents

I agree, it would be out of place. I think I will check out the stock rubber and get the nylon if I don't like it. got QC pics but chrono hands are misaligned.. here goes the wait for another :(
