Jesus, and I thought spotting flaws in vintage Rolex's was hard!!!
I am looking to buy a Pam 183 and have looked on the dealers websites and, yes, I have searched the forum, but I am still confused. Which dealer offers the better version of the 183?
For example. Some of the dials have "Radiomir Black Seal" at the top and "Panerai" at the bottom and other dialss have "Radiomir Panerai" at the top and "Black Seal" at the bottom!!!!Confused? I am!!!!! What questions should I be asking of them?
Also none of the dealers show a face on front shot of the dial so I can't gauge how accurate they are as compared to the gen shots I have.
Also is it worth paying the extra to get a Joshua G series engraved movement or is the H series more appropriate? And are they all 1:1 cases with correct casebacks?
Help!!!!!
I knew I should have stuck with archery as a hobby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe all the G movement 183s have "Black Seal" text near the bottom of the dial and other ones should be up at the top below the "Radiomir" text. The dials on these things are prettty damn accurate except for the lume (of course). A few other problems are cannon pin problem (I am sure you heard of it before) and the the outer case (square part of the case) is not "squared" enough on the rep. IF you make a visit to an AD with a rep 183, you'll know exactly what I mean. Gen looks bigger and more square. Last problem is the crown, the look of it is okay, but the threads wear out as you unscrew the crown to wind the watch every 2 days. I hear that Davidsen cares spare tube and crown, so no problem there.

I own one of these, it's very fine piece. However, it's not "1:1" as some would describe it. I think there are models that are closer to gen these days... such as the modded 111.

Hope this helps.
