Hi Guys, as the title says, my 183 has stripped the crown threads, are there any ways of repairing this?
i have tried a search, but could not find anything.
Thanks in advance

Darren.

A possible way is to replace the crown tube. Not easy task. You are required to have the right tools.

Gutted, the watch has served me well over the past 18 months.

Get the tube and the crown from our beloved davidsen.
Personally i would let a watchmaker do the job...

My 183 became stripped too... ziggy said he had a fixed that involved shortening the stem so the crown would appear screwed down but you could still wind it...

I did not send it be repaired because it is an Asian movement and i didn't feel it was worth it to fix this error... it sits in my watchbox looking very lonely and neglected... maybe i will use it to practice disassembly/assembly!

I have a great watch maker in Montreal if anyone needs. Real or reps.

Who did you buy the watch from in the first place? Some of them will fix it if you pay for the shipping/parts etc.

It is the most anoying thing about the 183s, I love the 183 but the stripping tube issue is a real pain.

Does anyone make a crown with threads that last?
Davidsen seems to have a great reputation for quality- I'm considering buying his 183. Any thoughts from the experts?

I definately am no expert, but I have read here elsewhere on the boards that DSN's do not strip.
