hi all

now that i have two pam´s, the "111H" and the "113" from DSN i have stumbled over the "183" also from DSN.

how is the "183" from DSN, it´s 45mm and thats good for my big wrists. is it easy to change strap on it, i have seen somewhere that the screws is "un-screwable". what size of strap do you need, 24 or 26 mm?

what do you think of the watch, is it a bit "dressy" or what do you think?

best regards from sweden | advertisingman

p.s show me pictures if you want i want to see

whats bothers me is that the "183" feels smaller than the other pam´s like "111" and "113". is there a bigger "radiomir", if so who is the seller?

thanx in advance

You're correct that 183 feels smaller on the wrist - although it's 1mm bigger in diameter @ 45mm (no CG, and case is slimmer than 44mm Pams). DSN has 249 for sale. it's 47mm, but I don't believe he has correct hands yet. Someone confirm this.

Joe, he's got a 249 in his photobucket listed as "new hands", I don't know if those are correct or not.

There is also the 232, which is a base dial and uses gold Fiddy hands that is 47mm, if you want a more traditional Panerai look.

My "unbranded" 249 shipped out today, so when I get it, I'll post a size comparo between it, my 210 and my rep 010...

I don't think it feels smaller than 44mm Luminors but slimmer (and I think it's good).
Otherwise, it wouldn't be "dressy".
My brother has a gen 111 and I wear it often, so I can make the comparison.

I think the 45mm Radiomirs definitely wear smaller than the Luminors. The case is only 1mm bigger, but the wire lugs are shorter and less substantial than the lugs of the Luminor case. Not to mention how much of a difference not having the CG makes.

The Radiomirs are still plenty big, though.

I think Panerai designs are inherently non-dressy. It's the dial, it's rather plain and rugged, and that's true of almost every one of the 'historic' designs. The Rad, while being less casual than a 111, is never going to be as dressy as (for example), a Two Tone Breitling Evolution with Two Tone bracelet or even on a gator strap. Plus the dial of the 183 and 210 are not pitch black, but are rather a dark grey, seeming a little washed out. This adds to their non-dressy feel. This doesn't mean they don't look nice, but they will never be dressy in a way that would match a well tailored italian suit, for example. For that, look elsewhere. But if you are going to wear them with jeans or more casual pants/shirts, or even mixing casual pants with nicer tops, the 183 will fit right in.

Oh, and after spending probably over $1000 in straps, I've concluded that one of the very first ones I got still looks the best - Europelli black shell cordovan with titanium stitch and size of 26/22.

I would respectfully disagree with you subz. I don't think a chunky Breitling chrono looks "dressy", regardless of if it is TT or even solid gold. It's too big and too sporty by nature of the subdials and pushers to be considered a true dress watch, IMO. My PAM210 on a high-gloss, 27/22 black/black stitch 'gator would look far more at home under the sleeves of a suit than anything Breitling makes, IMO. Now, Omega, Rolex, etc. is a different story.

lol. It's hard being a MOD huh? ;) I think your 210 is dressy as well. If replica radiomir fixes its case a little bit to be more square looking (like gen), I would definitely get one (again). The case is too round-looking on the 45mm rep cases - not sure by 47mm though. Or, I will be able to afford a gen one day ^^

Well, I guess we have to agree to disagree. If the PAM dial was a little glossy with some polished metal (gold or steel) markers, it would go a long we to being dressy for me.

Rads 183, 190 etc. deffinitely fall under dress watch category, 210 is slightly borderline, though :)

cheers,

Hi all,

I didn't say dressy, but "more dressy than casual".
However, a 45 watch with 26mm strap cannot be a formal piece, although big watches have become a fashion a few years now...
And you should also send your shirts' cuffs to Vacuum for modification.

No they cannot, as 60cm pocket watches never did in the past

Formality is such a biatch, isn't it

What does "biatch" mean?
