Any pics will be much appreciated. As far as I am concerned, the crown thickness and the lume are 2 main things to look out for. As for AR coating, it differs time to time (I guess there are many suppliers for this AR coated crystal).
The 177 should come with a sandwich dial, shouldn't it? Mine still uses the old normal dial. Recess canon pin problem exists, thin crown, Asian copy Unitas 6497-2. Ti case is accurate though (similar to 036). AR coating not as heavy as the 036 (this is the most visible AR I have seen in a reppanerai). Water resistant is not that good either. I have to open it up and apply some silicon grease.
yes, i think the 177H with the croc strap pictured has the same 036 crown, all the 036 with thick crowns I have seen has the lever pin placed upside down, meaning the pin is thinner on top of the CG and thicker at the bottom of CG
