Not sure on 117h but on 177h it's not really Ti. Something like SS plated with Ti colour like.

For your reference... I knew the result from oxidising the Ti casing as well as the crown... it shows its original colour... see pics (case from 177h). The crown is definitely not Ti.

The key is heating it... Mine didn't heat up. I can't really take picture well. The colour on that pic is off. It looks goldish, bluish, brownish, darkish.

I meant his crown. It looks like the same color as the rest of the watch.

Perhaps you can PM him... There are a few variations of 177h. Perhaps I am not the lucky one :)

None of the 177h crowns I have seen are Ti, includding Palp's. These are SS sandbasted to "look" like Ti
Sometimes the color of the crown will not match the color of the case. :(

I don't have calipers but it's certainly thicker than original 177h rep by quite a margin.

EDIT: slightly above 2 mm for sure.

I have 177H (new style case) and 036 (old style case with serial no on the case close to lugs, fat crown) - both are definitely Ti...had taken them off the mov't stem in the past and compared to S/S counterparts.

Maybe I just got lucky and got the ones from the 'good' batch.

cheers,

The two TI cases I have are all TI; case, CG, crown and lug pins ... bother were sold as PAM036 and have a 177 back case and absent of serials on case, ie. 177H styled ...

So, they exist. But hearing that the newest Don't have TI crowns, makes me happy DSN is working on a TI series of models, which should improve the choices currently available

Can't wait to see what Davidsen will offer!

Cheers, vaccum

Like Takashi mentioned, heating a steel crown will get it close to the Ti colour;
Here's a picture of my 177H with repeatedly heated/water-cooled Palp crown fitted
It was originally the polished steel Palp, NOT the sandblasted "Ti" look type that he also offers, that I worked on.
