Hi,

After recently buying a PAM616, from a member, I've fallen seriously into a PAM rabbit hole! Each time I think I've escaped, something pulls me back in.. This time it's the PAM 1314 from VSF factory..

I've been reading up, and I "think" this is the right model where the hands have been updated to be closer to GEN - is that right? I'm also confused about the movement - some say that although it's marketed as a P9010, it's actually the P9000? Again am I just making that up?

I love the look of the watch - always a sucker for a white dial... Let me know your thoughts...!!

Cheers!

Ian

Hands were fixed a few months after release.
every VSF Pam has the p9000 clone. Functions are same as the p9010 with jumping hour hand. P9010 is thinner and the balance wheel is in a different position.
Not an issue with closed casebacks

Thanks for the reply my good man! Any sense on the general feeling towards this particular model? I'm a fan, but obviously not an expert!

I'd say the 1314 is defo first class. Case, face, etc. are all usual VSF quality with minor discrepancies to the real thing. As long as you don't open the caseback you'll be hard pushed to find a tell you're wearing a rep.
The p9000 clone is a a very reliable movement and as said before - functions are the same as on the p9010. And you get hacking seconds. Those were scraped by Panerai two years ago. Outrageous for the price, but panerai...

As usual with Pam reps - get a nice quality strap. VSF straps are shit.

Check the section for strapmakers. There is a strapmaker group on Facebook. And the strap sales section. Also comes to a personal preference. Longer or shorter straps, colours, contrast stitching, leather, rubber, fabric, softer, stiffer, embossing…
Many here have 5-10 times the amount of straps compared to watches.
Check the strap freaks thread here. Same watch can look very different on a different strap
42mm PAMs take 22mm straps
44mm PAMs take 24mm straps
47mm PAMs take 26mm straps

There are tons of M2M PAM straps in the straps section. I literally got two Gen straps this weekend (a leather and a gator). Prices on used straps are very reasonable.
