PAM 127 KW stiff crown advise

Hello,

I received up my first manual wind PAM today. I went for the PAM 127KW. The watch itself is beautiful. Even the rep leather strap is good enough (although I have a gen cashmere gold enroute).

However, the crown is VERY stiff to wind.

If i rotate the crown say 1/2 turn clockwise and let go, the crown rotates back 1/4 turn clockwise? Is this normal?

There is a lot of resistance to winding even a dead watch.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps keyless need to be reset?

My 372 is this way. My other 372 i just sold was perfect when winding.
So its hit or miss

I found sometimes that pulling the crown out to time setting position and pushing it back in helps remove the tightness when winding. I'm not sure whether its movement / keyless related or is it the crown's rubber gasket that's rubbing :/

It's definitely not the crown's rubber gasket causing the resistance.

In the video, you can see 3 interfacing items that make up the winding mechanism (I don't know the exact terms):

1. Small gear wheel
2. Large gear wheel
3. Small pinion

When i wind the crown, the "small gear" turns, which turns the "large gear" and "pinion". When i release the crown from my fingertips, the pinion springs back rather suddenly causing the large and small wheels to "back-turn". This causes the crown to in-wind (turn anti-clockwise).

So the resistance to winding is coming from the "pinion"

Is this normal? It doesn't feel super-tight just not butter smooth
