I have an older PAM 118 bought from Paul when he was abay. It has been repaired twice (stem won't engage to either wind the watch or move the hands). The problem persists. I believe that it needs a new movement, Who does this, and at what price?
Is it Swiss ETA or Asian clone ?
ETA 6497 is quite hard to damage irreparably...you'll really have to try hard. The problem you have isn't major.
It's very common on mech mov'ts and is related to keyless works issue, where the stem screw (you know the one, the small screw you can see on the bridge side of the movement if you look thru your glass caseback) has slipped from the keyless clutch on the other side (dial side).
What you (or your watchmaker) will have to do is to uncase the mov't, remove the dial and screw the stem screw back in, this time observing from the dial side. It takes some practice and skill, but really not that much.
You say the watch has been repaired twice ?!?! My advice to you is - change the "watchmaker".
cheers,
