Help guys! My sacred noob factory Pam has gone crazy suddenly! Everything was fine. I flew to California. I took it out of my bags winded her up and she's gaining time faster than something super fast!! I opened it up right now and moved the +/- thing over to the far - side. Hopefully that will have some sort of significant effect because it's been gaining hours a day. Any ideas as to why this happened? Or what could be the actual issue?

your watch has more then likely become magnetized.

Ah:/ that would make sense as even after I moved the little deal inside its still gaining 5 seconds A MINUTE!!! Any idea what it would cost to have my baby fixed

Take it to a non-AD local watchsmith (or ring round and save petrol!) and ask if they can demagnetize watches. They will hopefully have the machine to do so :)

Leaving your watch on a winder would have no affect on magnetization. If it did, then wearing your watch would also create a magnetized watch. If you're referring to the motor being an induction motor and causing it that way.... the motor would need to be HUGE.

I read on another thread that you can actually put your watch next to a CRT monitor and hit the degauss button on it, and demagnetize your watch that way. Ghetto, but it seemed to have worked for the OP of that topic.

Ah yes, I recall reading about that method too.

I would be tempted to try it - it can't be any worse than it is now!
