Pam 111 Winding question

So I've heard from others that they will wind a 111 without pulling the CG lever out. I was always told to pull it and then wind so on mine I've always done exactly that but that it can wear out the CG mechanism. The only part that I think could eventually go bad night be the CG pin gasket, but I am no expert. Is it ok to wind without pulling the CG lever? Seems like it would be tighter/more resistant.

Thoughts?

I'm sorry if I'm dredging up an old discussion, but I tried a forum search and couldn't find hard answers. So thanks for the input!

No doubts about that
Remove the CG lever and then wind it
