Hello once again RWIers,

This is a quick review on the PAM 111 'V4' that I received from Chazingtime before the forums went down. I've had my eye on the piece for a while, and I've finally bitten the bullet.

While advertised as a 'V4', the watch that I received appears to be a mix of V4 and V3 parts as is apparently typical for PAM 111's coming out of the Noob factory.

I am very impressed by the quality. For the price, it certainly represents fantastic value. This is the first open case movement watch that I have owned, and it is wonderful to look at. On the forums, It's easy to get lost in macro shots and forget about what the watch might feel like as a whole on your wrist.

The tan leather strap that came with the watch isn't the best. It's quite stiff, almost plastic-y. It was also too big for my wrist, so I punched another hole into it.

The lume on this watch is the strongest that I have seen. It is very impressive, especially after walking inside after a sunny day. I especially love the deeper green colour that comes out in the dark.

Another thing that I love is the 'ticking' noise that the movement creates. It is very audible if you're close the watch, and I think it adds so much character to it. Reminds me of that scene in Dr Strange when Benedict Cumberbatch asks his fellow doctor to cover his watch during surgery.

Finally, I am a fan of Panerai's retro designs. It strikes me as just an awesome weekender watch to wear to the beach or a barbecue.

very nice watch. I'm still debating which one to get, PAM111 or PAM505.

Pam 111 was my 1st Rep for my 2nd go around with Reps.. 1st go around was in 2010 and only lasted about 2 months. Bought 2 reps and both died within a month and so did my enthusiasm for Reps until I found these forums again about 4 or 5 months ago.

Still like it... nice watch

Congratulations! The 111 is certainly one the best Pams you can get your hands on :)

Yep. Not just one of the best PAMs, but one of the best watches in my opinion. It is incredible value for money.

I really suggest that you get a really nice strap for it. Puts it over the top :)

Wich strap seller you guys recommend for a nice leather tan strap (closest to gen for the 111)?

The strap has improved somewhat as I wear it in, but I think replacing it could drastically improve the comfort of the watch. I will have to look into it.

Ive mentioned this before but isn't the dial lume and font the wrong color or is it the picture making it out to seem that way. I thought these were white font and lume?

Just like the one in the link

I have never seen my PAM exhibit an ice white colour. It has always been an ivory/cream white at best. It may be due to the white balance of the camera, but I have never seen the gen in person so I don't have a reliable comparison.

 Even though you only ever see it when you put it on and take it off, I love the open case back of the 111. You get to see the beating heart of your time piece. That said, both are nice watches.
