I have a pam 111 v3 noob that I bought from a member here a few months back. It has been great.

However, I think I broke it today. I wound the movement without pulling the CG out. Once I pulled out the CG to se the time, it didn't work. This has never happened. Any ideas? The actual pin/ stem feels a bit loose now.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. I love this watch and don't want to junk it.

Please ignore or forgive any rookie comments or points above. I am new to the rep game but def addicted already.

Thanks - Hush

Screw the CG off and try it again without the CG!!!
I don't think the movement Is broken, only the Crown to much pulling on the CG cause its turned off!!
For a watchmaker no problem to repaire..
I Hope...;-)

Ok I try to help. I don't know how skilled you are and what tools do you have. But I show you how you can fix the crown.

First step is removed the CG
For this use a 200 screwdriver and unscrew this two screws from the case

Next step, open the case back
I use sticky gloves, you can also use a case opening tool or a sticky ball

If the case is open you see a little screw at the left side of your movement

This screw fix the crown to the movement.

Use a 120 screwdriver too turn this screw. But be careful, don't unscrew it. Just turn the screw a half or a bit more than a half turn to the left.

After that you can carefully pull out the crown

Very nice Chris. OP, from the point Chris left it, if the crown did indeed un-thread, you should be able to reattach the crown to the stem simply by screwing it back on. Clean the threads and use a little loctite and you should be golden. You may need to heat the crown and clean the threads there as well or at least heat it and thread it on the stem while it is warm to loosen any would be thread locker, if any.

have you tried contacting the dealer you bought it from? it happened to me before with a DSN 127 a year in. I paid just shipping to CN along with instructions for DSN to fix it. Top dealer includes top class after purchase service.
Alternatively, DIY by first building yourself a caseback opener using a small plank of wood and 3 nails positioned and hammered in to twist the caseback (cheaper than buying a case opener)...worked for me but be careful not to scratch the case.

That's a fantastic step-by-step pictorial you've written up chris3007!! Appreciate it.

This may also be the solution to my problem. My 2 week old Noob PAM 177 has begun to play up a bit. I can pull out the crown fine to set the time, but I can no longer push the crown in to get back to the winding position (it no longer clicks back into the winding position). The only solution I've found so far is to push the crown in with the CG and lever. Only after that does it (sometimes) return to the winding position.

Will give this a go over the weekend!! :)

MrHush, I have always wound my 111 without opening the crown guard. I always thought that opening the crown guard lever just to wind the watch was a very weird thing to do. I only open the lever to set the time.

Revo, you might have some issue with the keyless works, as it should allow you to "click" the crown into the winding position.

Cheers for the insight, Milkbread.

I'm pretty new to the watch game, so what exactly is the keyless? And is the fix that Chris has posted earlier in the thread my solution? :)

Resurrecting this post...This noob who basically has an awesome set Craftsman tools which is great for doing automotive work, but no so much working on watches, was able to fix my recently broke Fiddy today! Watch wound fine, but I could no longer set the time. Following the instructions in this thread, and making a couple of guesses, I got it working again, good as new! Probably not that big of a deal to many of you. But, trust me...I'm thrilled! These threads are why I love this forum and group members! Thanks to all who contribute!

Thanks for the great write-up and tutorial chris! Was facing the same issue on my PAM111. Was thinking of sending it to a watch smith until I saw your post. Bless you!
