Pam 111 V3 (dochere2 modded) question

Hey guys,

I have a recently acquired pam111 modded with the docheres' usual treatment and craftsmanship. I just have a question about the crown, as well as the power reserve.

Is the crown supposed to lock in position entirely or remain in the position in which you can manually wind the watch? Meaning, once the CG lever is released, should you be able to wind it from the position the crown is in, or is it supposed to be pushed into place, and pulled out lightly to wind, and fully (to change time). I'm experiencing the first example where once I release the lever I'm able to wind it, than I can pull it out once too change time. Sometimes I'll hear two clicks, but even so with the crown "pushed in" all the way, I'm still able to wind the watch. Also, I find the watch not making it through the entire day on a wind when wearing on and off, is this typical, may it have to do with what I'm experiencing here above?

I'd like to also add that it's difficult to push the crown in after the setting the time I have to do it almost forcefully while closing the lever, in which even with the CG and lever closed you can still turn the crown hearing the clicking of the manual winding.

Thanks!

you can still wind with the lever in.

Great thanks for the reply... how about in regards to pushing the crown in, should there be a great amount of resistance or should it be easily pushed back into place?

just use the lever to push it in. the resistance should be from the lever

It is the same in my Pam. I usually use the lever to lock back the crown into its place.

I agree with all of the above regarding the crown use.
About the power reserve, as the a6497 is a manual wind movement PR is not affected by wearing or not the watch. Just be sure to wind for 20-30 turns of the crown before wearing it, also keep in mind that when the watch is fully wound you will feel a noticeable resistance turning the crown so stop winding.
PR should be 30-40 hours with a full wind :)

A full wind is considered as winding bottom to top twice? I was winding my 390 yesterday for about 80 turns and wondered why i could still wind it. Is there a strong resistance or it stops winding completely when the barrel is fully wound?

If the rubber gasket is right and the lever is pushed in, the crown run with difficults. Dont turn the crown when the lever is closed, because you can ruin the rubber gasket and lose waterproofing.

80 turns seem a lot to me, anyway you feel a strong resistance when the barrel is wound fully.
Consider a full turn as a 360 degrees rotation of the crown, if you can do that 80 times maybe something is slipping inside the movement and the the spring inside the barrel is not being loaded (or tightened) correctly, how to fix it would be far off my knowledge though :)
