Pam 111 replacement?

Panerai is introducing the 511


Basically the 111 with the addition of a new movement and the words "8 days", given the msrp is only $500 more it appears this will be the end of the 111?

I much prefer this to the 111 the addition of the 8 day mvt, the slightly wider numbers on the dial makes this a winner in my book.

Guess I'll have to try it on when I'm in Florence next month I'll try take a photo if they'll let me: )

Agreed. It's kind of like Cocacola coming out with New Coke. Don't mess with the original recipe.

Really though for OCD rep owners, this is a step back because this will be another rep with an inaccurate movement.

Well OCD rep owners will still have their 111. They might be even happier as it might make their 111 rarer...

Yea i would have to agree with the 111 folks here. Its simple and clean, and personally i think the movement looks nicer, but hey to each their own.

I like also much more the "simple" PAM 111 and its 6497 movement

We never will see a Super rep until have a clone movement like the 6497.
