Hi all. I have been poking around RWI for awhile and have decided on getting a PAM 111n noob v3 rep. From what I can see, it seems to be one of the most true reps out there. I do have a question though... Is it worth getting the Swiss eta and the inca bloc mod. This will bring the total price of the rep to about $500. Am I truly getting a better quality movement? From my understanding the Swiss movement runs at a lower frequency rate.

Also, is the inca bloc mod purely cosmetic? Or will this actually help the movement withstand shock? I appreciate all the support and help. I apologize for all the questions. Any input is greatly appreciated!

From the master:

Y shaped Incabloc will not at all increase accuracy or reliability of the movement. It is only cosmetical

Swiss eta is nice, but I believe you still have a fake Asian swan neck added on for appearance only.

Although I'm a big advocate of Swiss movements in reps, the Asian 6497 is said to be the most rock solid of Asian clones, so Swiss is not as big an improvement.

Can't answer if it's worth $500, since money means different things to different people. Maybe just ask yourself if you wan one $500 watch, or two $250 watches. ;)

Swiss isn't worth it IMO. The Noob high beat is a better replication of Gen. The incabloc mod is purely cosmetic......but I paid for it. ;)

Hi zmail
All is already above said by other members

The Swiss that you can get will be a low beat movement fitted with a cheap Incabloc system called Novodiac.

The A6497 is reliable enough and cheap. It is no worth a Swiss.
The Incabloc modd as above said is just cosmetic and almost microscopic. Up to you.

Get your watch, wear it two months and if, after that, you feel you need the modd, do it !

I think this is really good advice for new guys like me. In my opinion, it is really easy to get caught up in the moment of having the watch modified to be as close to gen as possible. Nothing is wrong with that, but it really is based on the cosmetics, not improved performance from what I am understanding. I do think part of the allure of all of this is seeing the evolution of the reps being produced and the magnificent modifications that are being done. It is an amazing thing to witness. It really makes it hard to resist owning a stable of these.
