PAM 1080

Well if anyone has been looking at Facebook or Instragram over the weekend, the posts on the new 1080 have been pervasive. Any rumblings from the inside guys about a rep in the works?

I understand its a limited edition, 60 count piece, but its basically a tobacco dial 127, so shouldn't be too far out of the wheelhouse ...

Sorry to be the first to say it, but not exactly the most imaginative design out of Panerai and kinda boring.

But agree, should be pretty easy to rep as all the parts are already there, with exception of the tobacco colored dial. And the closed case back is a big plus, provided they can get the engravings right.

I don' think you are wrong -- its more of a sentimental piece than anything else. I go and back and forth between the modern, "pack-as-many-functions-on-a-watch-face-as-possible" style of Panerai and going for a more traditional look (the DNA, as some insist upon). Regardless, I'm excited about the opportunity to get a rep of the "new" Fiddy because I'm damn sure not on the short list to get the real thing haha.

It's NOT based on a 127, case is based on a 372.

I'm a vintage guy and I just love the 1080, haven't been able to place an order, so hope that P****i is introducing a similar modell next year (2020 = year of the Luminor) or, much better for my budget, that one of the factories will launch it as rep.

An error by omission, perhaps, but you are correct in the case shape. Like broads, the face usually catches my eyes first. Usually haha.

In this instance, the tobacco 127 dial (without the “1950” badging to be precise) is where my personal interest lies.

Regardless, I have a feeling the limited run of the 1080 will be eclipsed by a regular production model of analogous aesthetics. Similar to the London Boutique 907 morphing into the Brownzo 968 ...

Yeah this should be ab easy rep for the the factories to make. All the 372 parts and the superclone movement already available, just need a new dial and case back which is easy enough as it's just a basic dial and nothing complex. Even detailed pics of the case back on FB and even plenty of pics of the case back design on paneristi from when they where designing it with panerai.

Would definitely be interested in getting a rep of this. Low key and a modern reinterpretation of the 6152
