Thanks
Last N-versions from Noob were bordering Super rep status
If Noob has made good job as usually we have two new Super reps
Good news
Already evaluated and included as Super rep (Pending final evaluation) in PAM GUIDE

The improvements we are expecting are:
PAM 104 better clourless cyclpos a bit thinner markers
PAM 164 betyter cyclops distortion and Little numerals a bit darker

Plkase owners confirm these points

the photos appears as there is no roller ball on the cg lever but you can see it in the video, its not that visible though.

Hi everyone! Greetings from Singapore! This is my first post on the forum and I'm new to reps, but not that new to watches. And I gotta say, ALE, your work on PAM reps is unparalleled. I spent hours reading and re-reading your thread on PAMs and other posts from you. I would like to thank you for all your contributions, much of which helped me to make my decision on my first PAM rep.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on the noob PAM104N when as luck would have it, this thread was started the very day I was about to make my purchase.

As a result, I decided to take the plunge and go for the PAM104O instead. I'm no expert at PAMs and have no experience with both the gens or reps, so I'm not sure what to look out for.

I took some pictures which I hope someone would find useful in determining the resemblance to the gen.

Please pardon the poor quality of the pictures though, as I took them indoors at night with an iPhone.

I can confirm however, that the roller ball on the cg lever is there.

Oh yes, I forgot to add on, I made my purchase from PureTime as it seemed like they were the only ones who had the 104O at that time. The transaction failed the first two times when I used their credit card option 1. However, communication was prompt and I was soon able to make my purchase successfully. I chose the express EMS option and delivery was quick, about a week from the time I made my payment.

Now my only consideration is about the servicing of the movement as I have read many bad things about how most of these movements are dirty and poorly lubricated. I'm also wondering about the feasibility of replacing it with a Swiss movement.

Not a big fan of the 164 so not really interested in that piece but it would certainly be interesting to see what Ale thinks of the new Noob 104.

Anyone else opt of the new O version of the 104?

Holding a gen in my hand right now and looking at all the pics on Puretime, etc, and it looks pretty perfect.

Can't tell if the Cyclops has been improved though, hard to judge.

I just ordered it from puretime. used credit card #2 option. Can't wait to get it. I'll update you all when I do. Long shipping to hawaii but hopefully it'll be good to go.

Hi slashtom,

Please let us know how you feel about it when it arrives... I'm quite interested in it myself.

Many thanks.

I took delivery of my 104 about a week ago, absolutely love it.

Only dings versus my gen when looked at closely side-by-side were a slightly larger CG, and a thin "halo" line around the cyclops that is more pronounced than gen (visible in kryptik's pictures above).

Weight, feel, construction quality, the 'look', everything else, passes with flying colors. Very impressed as I didn't expect it to be this close.

What do you mean about slightly larger CG?
Please elaborate
We didn't know about this flaw
ALE

I thought I had read it in your guide Ale as I remember reading it somewhere on RWI, but the crown guard on the rep is about 10% longer in length, from top to bottom (end-to-end) than gen. Height (width left to right) is correct.

Hard to see from the pic but here's a look anyway, on my ruler the rep CG is about 1.5mm longer (rep is on the right):

This is very weird
Your gen CG seems really odd
I would like to have more frontal pics gen and rep apart to make a real comparison in Photoshop.
I have made a comparison with a gen pic at the left side and the coincidence is perfect as you can see below

It is really odd you gen CG I don't understand it

It surprised me also, I didn't notice it at first but after taking delivery and reading a variety of 104 threads I found a post or reference from someone about their CG size being off. So I went back and looked at my rep/gen again and thought "I'll be damned, the rep is larger".

Naked eye, extremely tough to tell, even side-by-side from macro distance so it's not something that's going to tip off even other Panerai aficionados that it's a rep for those who are lurking.

But since it's you Ale, I was inspired to go fool around with it again, and took off the CG on the rep for a better shot:

Thanks
Now is all clear
I have just got your pic and aligned correctly the two CG
They are almost exactly the same, as you can see
I repeat I have made copy paste with gen CG and then make the alignment without change size.

Nice!! Good job Ale, your CSI forensic skills get it done once again. When the eyes play tricks the pictures don't lie.

Hello everyone,

I just got my quality check photos of the O series 104 from Puretime. Awesome service there.

Thought it might help Ale to look at it to determine if super rep or just first class.

Thanks slashtom
Really good and useful pics to confirm evaluation, just we needed this info
We know already the quality of Noob case. In this watch with all polished even the CG we can see a good quality of polishing
We can see by the pics an almost perfect dial and very good CP finish very gen-like
Hands are good enough although they have some roughness at the edges. No noticeable a real size only in macro pics
Besides we get some improvements:
- More accurate beveled in crystal
- Improved frozen halo in cyclops, although still existent. Colourless AR cyclops
- "Slim" Crown (important)
Since we had evaluated last Noob version as a First Class rep with 55% of votes (45% Super rep). It was bordering Super rep status. Therefore we can consider this watch as a real and consolidate new Super rep. No doubts about that.
I will indicate link to your pics in PAM GUIDE and will confirm Super rep status.

Nice! It seemed like it was a super to me as soon as I looked at it out of the box, even the weight without straps was within 0.5g on a scale to the gen!

The 104 doesn't get enough love from Panerai fans but it wears great and is brainless automatic that looks sharp.
